THINGS I TRIPPED OVER ON THE INTERNET TODAY, NOVEMBER 1

Thing #1 - “Summer Son” by Texas

This video was so hot to me when I was 16. I was an exchange student in Turkey and had never had music videos on my two channels growing up so I ate up all this pop culture when I was living there - including this song, which I listened to on repeat on my Walkman.

Thing #2 - “Like Sugar” by Chaka Khan

Completely obsessed by the swag in this video. And that yellow suit.

Thing #3 - Sook-Yin Lee on the limits of art and speech in Canada

Sook-Yin Lee was my favorite host on MuchMusic back in Canada because she was cool, weird, and unafraid to be her authentic self on TV. And I’m so glad to see that life-truthiness still going strong. And what a wonderful conversation too.

Thing #4 - Hamburger Harry and his monotonous love of hamburgers

Thing #5 - Orson Wells narrated a video about wool
