THINGS I TRIPPED OVER ON THE INTERNET TODAY, DECEMBER 8
Thing #1 - “The Sistine Chapel of the Ancients” found in the Amazon
Whole areas of the Amazon have been unexplorable due to rebel factions and drug lords and are only now starting to open up to historians and explorers. This remarkable cliff face is completely covered by petroglyphs from prehistoric cultures, along with 15 other walls, that up until recently had never been studied.
It’s estimated that there are more than 100,000 paintings, making it the single largest prehistoric site in the Americas.
Thing #2 - Gay porn stars fighting over a burrito
The folks over at QUEERTY are doing the Lord’s work here with this roundup of an online spat between gay adult film stars Damien Kyle and Paul Canon. Read it all HERE.
Thing #3 - Miley Cyrus covering “Doll Parts” on Howard Stern
I’ve probably listened to this cover at least 3x a day for the past week. That’s all I have to say about it.
Thing #4 - James Blackwood, raccoon whisperer
James Blackwood lives in Nova Scotia and feeds raccoons because he’s a mensch. My uncle Breen used to feed black bears in his yard and get day old donuts from Tim Hortons all the time. They never really gave him any trouble and he could hang out with them in the yard too.
Thing #5 - “The Last Video Store”
Learn all about 20th Century Flicks, the oldest video rental store in the world, still going strong in the United Kingdom.
