MILLS 50 ART BOX PROGRAM: BEE BOX
The Mills 50 Main Street District set about with an ongoing branding initiative that gave local artists the ability to paint on electric cabinets in the City’s right of way.
I submitted the following janky design with a vague idea of transforming the box into a bee (since back in those days I was going by B Keeper for all of my street art stuff). And I was selected!
The box lasted roughly two years before being dismantled and swapped out for a new skin. We ended up donating the space to ArtReach Orlando in the wake of the Pulse shootings and they made it into a tribute moment, which is great.
But I’m starting to miss that little bee face.
