Mask for Mask: A little side project
The City of Orlando has been digitally adding masks to Orlando landmarks throughout the pandemic in an ongoing campaign to call attention to the importance of protecting yourself and others by masking up. It’s a fun campaign but I kept thinking we’d be better served by actual masks on the landmarks. So I told them that.
Their answer was, “OK, so do it!”
So I did.
I whipped up this giant mask on my little sewing machine and installed it on a popular sculpture at Lake Eola, The Muse, and snapped this pic. Which was smart, as the mask only lasted about an hour before someone ripped it off and threw it in the lake.
Which is probably why the City of Orlando was sticking to digital ones that couldn’t be thrown away.
Still glad I got the photo though.
