I danced with Orlando Ballet
Well, I really just kinda bobbed a little bit while in the back of the stage at the Orlando Ballet’s recent production of The Nutcracker at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
I was invited to participated because of my gig at Bungalower Media and kind of jumped at the chance because I thought I’d be allowed to wear a fancy dress … but that wasn’t the destiny I manifested.
Instead they put me in a fun long tailed jacket with a jaunty hat and thrust me onto the stage without so much as a “stand over here and don’t touch any butts.” Thankfully I had the help of a few friendly faces - Commissioner Patty Sheehan and Gary Lambert. They’d done this a million times before and just led me around the stage by the arm and fed me booze from Gary’s flask while we said nasty things to eachother.
Gary played the part of a blind man and just felt his way around on stage telling dirty jokes to the dancers. None of which was scripted by the Ballet but I think turned out to be the best part of the show.
