This is a lot of “me” content but where else can you hear all about what I’m up to without reading my Google calendar?

Going full nerd and not looking back

Going full nerd and not looking back

I used to play Dungeons and Dragons with my brother all through high school. It was something we’d dive right into in the summers and sometimes we’d play one game for a whole week straight. It was something we obsessed over; drawing our characters, meditating on their pasts and their futures. It was all-encompassing, something our dad didn’t get and didn’t want to.

At one point in Grade 10 I realized if I didn’t stop playing with my brother’s friends in the stairwell though, I’d never make any friends of my own and I took a step back. Then I went to Turkey on exchange and never had the interest to play again. Until this summer.

I think Baldur’s Gate 3 brought it all flooding back. When my boyfriend and friends (Vicky Goodall and Mike Donohue) expressed interest in trying it, I asked my brother if he’d be interested in putting something together. And he was. And he did! And the obsession came flooding back.

Patrick 3-D printed our characters and has a whole treasure trove of dungeons and play sets for us to get lost in. It’s been so much fun.

Vicky is playing a tiefling rogue named Lilith, Mike is a halfing bard named Elden John, Scottie is a dwarf monk, and I’m playing an adorable tortle druid named Cooter, who’s a total bro and badass nature lover. As soon as I found out who was in our party, I jumped on the AI and asked it to make us beautiful. A little photoshopping later and we had our troupe.
