This is a lot of “me” content but where else can you hear all about what I’m up to without reading my Google calendar?

A Midjourney update and new skills

A Midjourney update and new skills

Alright, my pal Adam McCabe gave me some fun keywords to add to my prompts on Midjourney and they’re making all the difference! I’m getting some really interesting results and learning how to update them and refine them has been a fun process. I keep thinking up some fun projects I can use these for.

Below I’ve got a few standouts that I really love - mostly this neanderthal series. I’ve always been interested in the mysteries of prehistory and recorded stories, probably because my father is an archaeologist.

The faces and character of these creations are so textural. I’m just floored by what you can do with this. A dear friend, Janessa Gursky, made me realize that using this platform doesn’t make you an artist per se, it makes you an art director. The computer is just doing what you tell it to do, and then you can nip and tuck as you see fit. The real artistic test comes when you apply your you-ness to the piece and make it your own. So I can’t wait to figure out how to use these.

This guy’s a bit more Australopithecus than Neanderthal I think, but it's a keeper.
